Shining The Light of Reiki Onto Trauma

Trauma in our lives can be debilitating. We have all experienced trauma in some way, shape or form, whether large or small. We also experience trauma on an every day basis in the form of a word called STRESS. Stress is the physical response to the traumas we undergo each day. Our bodies are beautifully designed to help us manage our stress.....up until a certain tipping point, where either the stress occurs for too long without being released, or, the trauma is too great, causing a wound that digs into us like a thorn, causing much suffering, and unable to be released without significant work to heal.

The problem with these "thorns" of trauma, is that they are energetic as well as physical, and the energetic form of them can hurt so much that we feel them as physical effects. Have you ever experienced a pain so great, the loss of a loved one, mental or emotional abuse, that it felt like a knife in your heart? There is no actual knife in your heart, but the knife is there in an energetic form, whether you can see it or not. Not only that, but these energetic thorns are capable of physically harming us to the point of death.

There is much to learn on trauma in its energetic form, which I will share in other spaces on this site, but for now, here, it is important to understand the fact that:

1. Trauma has an energetic as well as a physical form

2. The energetic form of trauma we will describe as a thorn that can become lodged, "make its home", if you will,

in different parts of your body

3. That energetic thorn can then cause the physical part of your body it is lodged in to then malfunction, leading to disease.

As we grow in life, we grow in layers. We grow physically and we grow energetically. As traumas occur and these thorns are placed without release, they can become buried deeper and deeper within your energetic field. It is CRUCIAL that you understand this fact, and that this is the reason that the path to healing comes in layers. You heal and work through the traumas you have sustained, releasing the thorns as you go, so that your whole body, the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of you can exist and run smoothly in harmony as a whole.

And here is where the beauty of Reiki can be found. Reiki is the Divine Light that shines through the darkness caused by the thorns of your trauma.

There are many ways that the Light of Reiki can assist with your traumas. For some, these thorns of trauma are buried so deep we do not even remember them. For some, we have buried them down the deepest hole we could dig and chosen to cover that hole up, and live in a reality where we pretend it does not exist. For some, you know that the thorn exists, but how to "get it out" how to release it is something you can't understand how to do.

Reiki works in all of these areas:

1. Because it is a Divine Life-force, it existed before all else, therefore, it is capable of going back to any time your trauma occurred and bring Divine Life to that area. This may be an area where the trauma has been there for so long your organs around the area have become weak and began to fail, and Reiki is able to help restore Life-Force to that area.

2. While Reiki is working on the physical level, it is able to shine its Divine Light as a reflector, to then help you either remember a situation or, to shine Light onto a situation, that is a Light made of Love. Because that is also what Reiki is. It is the Divine Love Light that wove all into existence. And this is also crucial to understand, because for some, remembering a trauma in itself can be so triggering it just creates more trauma. When you are surrounded by the safety of this Love-Light you are able to see a situation calmly, peacefully, allowing you to understand what you need to be able release and heal from that trauma...with Love. It does not remove the moment from your memory, it surrounds it with love and harmony so that if or when you remember it, it does not trigger you in a negative way causing more holes to be formed by the thorns of the trauma.

The holes of our trauma, the pain of our trauma, these are the things that cause us to seek relief in forms that do nothing but cause us more trauma. We seek escape, we seek to take anything that will make us forget the memories of the pain we have been through. Food addictions, alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping, you name it, all are an escape. Whether we admit it or not, when we find these false escapes that we feel are good, they are simply causing more trauma and more holes, and one day we look up to found ourselves standing in our own graves....dug by our own hands. That is a hard fact to hear, but it is true.

We don't always choose our trauma. Sometimes we are handed such terrifying life situations it seems impossible that anyone could rise from the holes of the wounds inflicted. And yet, it is those who choose life, those who choose to heal, to rise above, to fight their way out of that dark grave that carry with them a light of healing so bright it is capable of helping others to heal from their deepest of wounds. They rise as warriors, battle ready with a story and a message of healing that can change the world.

Cancer survivors, those who have been raped, been beaten, been sold into slavery, abused, torn apart physically by wars of all kinds....those who have suffered unimaginable pain and chosen to rise into the Light of healing....those are the warriors this Earth needs more of. Those who have chosen not to take their trauma and use their suffering as a weapon to throw more darts at other people so that they cause others to share their own suffering, but those who have chosen humility. Who have healed to the level of Love that causes them to see that when they cause more suffering, they are only digging more of their own holes.

Is this too good to be true? Can the Light of Reiki truly help with this level of healing? I am a walking example of that YES. The list of my traumas is long, my body covered with many of the scars to prove it, but walking through that path of pain, finding the Door opened by the Light of Reiki, choosing to walk, sometimes run, sometimes crawl up the steps that lead me higher in the Light is a choice I make daily and one that has gifted me with the ability to help others heal and walk the same path.

Sometimes we must break to shine.
